Alaska has so many spectacular vistas - in addition to those found in its great national parks, Denali, Wrangell-St. Elias and Kenai, each of which has their own galleries on this website This gallery is devoted to a few of these non-Park spectacular places, in the Tordrillo mountains where I hiked from my base near Winterlake, to the Glenn and Richardson highways, to Prince William sound, and the imposing Chugach mountains that stretch along many hundreds of miles south of Anchorage. Some of these can be witnessed from the highway; others required a significant helicopter ride and hike.
