I spent a week hiking, rafting and horseback riding through the Tetons the third week of August 2010. The weather was generally clear. But on two dawns there was some early fog over the Snake River and brilliant, but brief, color in the moments before sunrise that alone made the trip worthwhile. There was also a ferocious thunderstorm that swept across the valley floor one afternoon that could easily have passed for Twister. More than anything - other than watch my kids jump from the 20 foot diving rock into Phelps Lake - I will remember the many large bull moose I came across on this trip, more so than on any of my prior trips to the Tetons. Here are a few of the images I have identified from this trip. More will be added here and to the Tetons gallery page. Lastly, once again I drew inspiration from the magnificent gallery of David Brookover in Jackson Hole that I commend to anyone passing through that way. I am looking forward to a return trip when fall's colors put on their show in late September.
