Sunrise on Alum Creek

Yellowstone National Park

Near the north end of the Hayden Valley, Alum Creek empties into the Yellowstone River. Because of the cool water temperatures, fog radiates off the Creek most summer mornings until the sun burns it off shortly after sunrise, creating one of the very unique and sacred places to watch sunrise.
