Mount Washburn in a June Snow

Yellowstone National Park

A not so unusual but beautiful June snow caps the upper reaches of Mount Washburn in Yellowstone National Park. Standing just over 10,000 feet in elevation, access to this area can be closed any month of the year by snow. The Peak can be reached by a steep hike that provides a spectacular 360 degree view - with alpine winds and temperatures throughout the year. Photo © copyright by Ed Fuhr.
