After crossing the East Fork of the Toklat River, the Denali Park Road climbs steeply to Polychrome Overlook, which affords a stunning view of the Plains of Murie, named after the famed biologist Adolph Murie, whose pioneering studies and advocacy heavily shaped the Park's focus on habitat conservation over commercial development.
