Mushroom Cloud

In the dark of night our pontoon of hearty souls surfs the 10 foot swells that roll across the open ocean. The group grows silent as we cross the point that allows an unobstructed view: still more than 10 miles away a giant orange mushroom cloud glows from the lava below, as Venus twinkles on the horizon.
