Kilaue Lighthouse and National Refuge
Kauai Island, Hawaii
Standing almost 200 feet above the Pacific on the northwest corner of Kauai, this exquisite Light is part of one of the largest and most important seabird nesting refuges. Thousands of birds, some near extinction, can be seen nesting on the cliffs below the Light and riding the air currents above this alcove. Photo © copyright by Ed Fuhr.
