Waimea Canyon State Park

Nicknamed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea Canyon is 14 miles long and more than a half mile deep, with numerous waterfalls cascading down its red canyon walls. The canyon's colors come from the oxidized iron deposited there more than a million years ago. Photo © copyright by Ed Fuhr.
