The Alpha male of the Wapiti pack stands in his leadership spot in front of at least half of his very large pack. They have killed bison the night before and they have all eaten well. But it is already time to move on. By daybreak, they will be gone, across the river, above its cliffside, to the meadow where the bison have presumably retreated to. Photo © copyright by Ed Fuhr.
