The view from the Eielson bluffs just west of the visitor center is stunning in its sweep and variety: the vast braided gravel plain of the upper Thorofare River basin, which flows out to of the Muldrow Glacier; Gorge Creek Drainage and its cut-bank notch; and theSunrise/Sunset Peak area to the southeast toward the Alaska Range.
