Featuing leaves with distinctive aromatic scent when crushed, indigenous peoples and early settlers traditionally brewed the leaves into tea. These teas feature dense clusters of small white flowers at the tips of branches, with five white petals along many long stamens, and narrow, leathery evergreen leaves rolled under along the edges.
