Denali National Park
Dicots (dicotyledons) make up the vast majority of the 750+ species of flowering plants and woody shrubs found within Denali National Park and Preserve. Unlike monocots (such as grasses and sedges), dicots sprout with two seed leaves, possess net-like leaf veins, and feature flower petals in multiples of four or five. Photo © copyright by Ed Fuhr.
