Harbor seals are often seen at Aialik Glacier because they use glacial ice as a habitat for pupping, nursing, and resting. However, studies show a significant decline in the harbor seal population around Aialik Glacier, possibly due to climate change and the loss of glacial ice habitat. Photo © copyright by Ed Fuhr.
