With a single cub, grizzly 399 seems to spend more time socializing and playing with her cub than in prior years when she has mothered three or even four cubs. Grizzlies have been on the brink of extinction but the great fight of so many has kept these incredible wild animals alive. Every visitor to the Tetons, Yellowstone or some of the great parks in Alaska will tell you that the sight of these great bears in the wild is a sight they will never forget. Especially when it is iconic 399 and her rambunctious cub playing in a field in a field of Larkspur, balsam and bitterroot. Photo © copyright by Ed Fuhr.
